Motivational Interviewing - MI

A technique in which the clinician becomes a helper in the change process with acceptance of the person being served. Most effectively used to interact with substance use clients adjunct to other therapeutic approaches. The main style of MI counseling can help resolve ambivalence that prevents clients from realizing their personal goals, and for discovering the barriers that may postpone surrendering to their addiction.
